Maria
Montessori spent her life working to create schools that would
serve children, but she also said that education begins at
birth. She recognized that the most essential element
to a child's Montessori education is building a strong partnership
with the parents.
In addition to serving the children,
MIR focuses its energy on the parents of our community. Parenting
is the most challenging job one accepts with very little instruction.
All parents need the support of a strong community to successfully
raise their children.
To support parents, MIR offers several
Parent Education Nights.
Parents are expected to participate in a minimum of two per
year; many parents attend all five. Parent
Child Night, Journey
& Discovery, and parenting classes and seminars are
also offered throughout the school year. Classes and seminars
include a Parent-Infant
Class, Positive Discipline,
and Emotional Coach Parenting. |
